I always loved the holidays. December always brought my birthday and Christmas, but this year, of course is completely different. I got to celebrate both events, but the celebrations were limited and not as fun and it left for me the first time sad afterwards. The new year came, but there still is this huge shadow of Covid-19 as we start 2021. The unknown is as big as it has ever been. We do not know when life will be back to normal, we don’t know when we will see all of our loved ones again, we don’t know when concerts or sporting events will ever be attended by a mass amount of people.

And then here in Wisconsin, we are facing two to three months of freezing weather where we suffer through shoveling, short days and very long nights. It is a tough time to see the light this year. But one thing is for sure, it will come. We can see the end, but it is going to take some tough times to get there.

Stick in there, even though we may not be able to see the ones we love the same amount anymore, that does not mean you can’t lean on them the same amount. They are there for you, use them when you need to talk things through. This thing called life is tough, at every age there are tough things to get through but when you have people you can rely on, it becomes easier, it becomes manageable, it becomes bearable, just like a Wisconsin Winter. I am giving you all warm thoughts and thinking about you as you stare down these tough times and below freezing temperatures. Spring will come, vaccines will be here, hopefully sooner than some expect, but flowers will bloom and so will we again. But in the meantime, rely on your love ones, I know I have.
