We must remember the importance of "Communication."  Many believe that communication is an opportunity for them to speak while other listens to what they're saying, when in fact it’s an opportunity to share and HEAR from others.  We must show empathy and open our minds to the thoughts and emotions of others by listening actively and engaging in meaningful dialogue that helps others and you personally grow.  If we are open, we often learn more from others' experiences while we are navigating through our personal life journeys. In addition, continue to pay attention to verbal and non-verbal cues of those around you.  Sometimes messages and input are being provided without words, and we need to take that information to get a deeper look into the information someone is trying to share.  Finally, we live in a technology centered world where we have an opportunity to connect and communicate at a rapid pace to large groups of people.  We must embrace the technological platforms we have at our fingertips, but also remember the importance of building and maintaining connections with others from direct interactions whenever possible.  This will help maintain relationships and assist inbuilding a foundation for understanding and individual growth.
