STRYV365’s very owned, JP Kiatoukaysy was featured on TMJ4 on Friday, March 5th being one of the first Hmong to arrive and receive the Covid-19 vaccination during the collaboration efforts of the Hmong American Friendship Association (HAFA) and Hayat Pharmacy. This collaboration provided a great resource for Hmong community members, especially the elderly allowing them to receive the Covid-19 vaccination overcoming obstacles of language barriers, transportation, awareness, and cultural superstition.  

HAFA, located in the center of Milwaukee is where many Hmong communities are located along with other underserved communities. With the collaboration with Hayat Pharmacy, they have provided a location that was comfortable and convenient for communities all around to come in and receive the vaccination.

JP Kiatoukaysy and other STRYV365staff were thankful to have received the Covid-19 vaccination due to their work with STRYV365, implementing trauma-informed programming in Milwaukee schools while working with youth. Find the full story about the collaboration here.
